Come join one of our two adult Sunday School classes each Sunday beginning at 9:45.  Meet some great people and learn more about God’s Word.

Sundays in August – We’ve had a great time with our “throwback” celebrations this month.  The last Sunday of the month will be a special “old-time” Sunday morning service followed by a luncheon.  Watch your bulletin for details.

Sunday September 26th will be the church picnic following the morning service.

Love music?  Love to sing?  Then join the choir.  No experience required.  Blessings will be provided.

Take a moment today to thank the preacher, the choir, the worship leader, your Sunday School teacher, church staff – just thank someone who makes our church a great place to worship.

Directions
Halls Christian Church is at the corner of Hill Rd and Fort Sumter Rd in Halls, Tennessee. From E Emory Rd in Halls, turn onto Andersonville Pike going north. Just past Halls Elementary School, turn right onto Hill Rd. Continue on Hill Rd until you reach Fort Sumter then turn right. If you have questions please call the church at (865) 922-4210.

Halls Christian Church began as an idea in Freshman Missions Class at Johnson Bible College in 1978. Larry Woods had left a business career to go into the ministry and was a student in that class.

Several students began a visitation program in the Halls community of North Knox County because there was not a Christian Church north of Fountain City.

Approximately 50 people attended an interest meeting at the Halls Community Center on March 6, 1978. It was agreed that a church would be started. Four committees were established to plant the work.

After several months at the Community Center, the young church relocated to the Knox Federal Bank Building on Maynardville Highway, renting the facility for Sunday and Wednesday services.

With an attendance of 35 or so during the early years the decision was made to build a building. Property was secured on Norris Freeway and $100,000 in bonds was issued to finance that initial building.

Developers wanted the church property as part of the development of the Crossroads Plaza Shopping Center. They bought the property at a price allowing the church to retire the bond debt and purchase/build a facility at 4131 East Emory Road (currently the site of a Mynatt Funeral Home).

Because of the development of the shopping center, the congregation has had the freedom to aggressively support missions and benevolence work through the years.

With continued growth, a larger facility was needed. An opportunity arose when Salem Baptist Church built a new facility. The church was able to sell the property at 4131 East Emory Road and use the proceeds to obtain our current site at 4805 Fort Sumter Road. The facility and property provide room for future growth.

Our LORD truly works in mysterious ways.
